i own a 2005 ford escape with hitch to tow.. i tow two jet skis?
it won;t cool when i pull up hill and very little once i level out.. what is wrong
what is the solution?
is the solution to put an additional coolant on it ?
or larger one??
i don;t have overdrive..
Taking it out of overdrive going uphill won’t help, because it’s going to take itself out of overdrive going uphill.
But it’s still a good idea to turn o/d off while towing.
your towing capacity is only 3500 lbs if you have the V6 with the tow package; it’s only 2000 without, and if you have the 4-cylinder it’s more like 1000.
just cause somebody put a hitch on it, doesn’t mean it’s a good idea to tow.
assuming you are within the towing capacity of the vehicle, get the cooling system serviced.
Be aware that even if you are within your vehicle’s capacity, if you *don’t* have the tow package, you are burning up your automatic transmission.
